Jason and Gretchen were married on Saturday June 28th, 2008. My day started with Gretchen getting ready. I was UBER excited when she told me she was wearing a birdcage veil!! I've been hoping one of my brides would wear one this year. My jaw dropped when we put it on. Gretchen looked like she had come straight out of a fashion magazine! Jason and Gretchen were like bread and butter together. They just knew they were meant to be and it shows on camera! That beautiful car they got to ride in was provided by a family friend. Sadly, the man who owned it passed away recently but his wife said it was very important to him for them to use it on their wedding day. I'm sure he was smiling down on them from heaven!

Mom Taryn definitely has her hands full with twins Reid and Logan and little 6 month old brother Drake! Our attempt to keep the kids together for a few pictures worked when we put them in this cute wagon. In fact it worked a little too good, the kids didn't like getting out..ha! But we finally managed to pull them away to take photos of each of the kids alone. Last time I was out to the Herman family home the twins were just 6 months old. Time sure does fly!! Thanks for having me out again Taryn!!

I photographed Madden when he was just a few days old but realized after our photo shoot that he was pretty jaundice looking in his photos. So I came back a few weeks later to take a few more. Our first session was good but this one was fabulous! We had some great weather and popped outside for some and then finally at the very end of the session Madden fell asleep and we got some very sweet sleeping pictures. It took 1.5 hours but it was worth it to get the "money shot"!

Renee and Nick will be getting married in about a month and they wanted to get their engagement photos in! They decided to do them in their own neighborhood of Buffalo, MN. We ventured to Sturges Park on Buffalo Lake and it was a beautiful warm evening. Nick and Renee were so open to all my crazy ideas...even jumping off the dock in their clothes! I think those are my favorites of the night!

I often get emails from my clients asking how my daughter Katelyn is doing and asking for photos. So I though I'd post another update since it's been about 4 months since the last! This photo was taken today. Kate is officially 8 months...where has the time gone?

Derek and Emily were married on Saturday, June 21st, 2008. This was by far the furthest I've traveled for a wedding. The ceremony and reception were in Crookston, Minnesota, which is about 5 hours North West of the Twin Cities. Derek grew up here and the ceremony was held at his home church Trinity Lutheran. Derek and Emily met while in school. Derek is a pilot and I swear their guest list was 90% pilots...ha ha! Not really but there were quite a few :) My favorite moment of the day was when the little flower girl put Emily's ballet slippers on for her! Such a sweet and endearing moment.

I'm in the process of designing an entirely new website and I'd like my blog to match the new design as well. So over the next few weeks you may see a lot of changes to my blog. I'll be tweaking this as I learn how to customize my blog!

I've been eagerly awaiting Craig and Shalene's wedding for a VERY long time now! I was so excited when they told me their wedding would be at the Grand Superior Lodge on Friday, June 13th in Two Harbors, Minnesota. I was even more excited when they told me they wanted to spend a few hours outdoors at Split Rock Lighthouse(conveniently a few miles from the lodge). From the beginning Craig and Shalene's wedding was nothing of the ordinary nature! Their wedding party was made up of Craig's children and Shalene's niece's. Oh and you know the bride means business when she straps on a pair of Nike's instead of high heals :) We got some amazing images while at Split Rock. The weather was beautiful and the landscape could not have been more perfect! Most of all Craig and Shalene were about the most laid back and fun loving couple a photographer could hope for. Thank you for letting me a part of your special day.
